The Acropolis and the Parthenon were built by the Athenians during the 5th century BC in honor of the goddess Athena. The temple complex was regarded as a citadel of the gods. The ship’s embarkation point is Piraeus, Athens’ busy seaport, located eight miles from the city .

KATAKOLON (OLYMPIA), GREECE

Visit Ancient Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games in 776 BC. The area’s most imposing monument was the outstanding Temple of Zeus. It housed the gold-and-ivory statue of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The famous Olympia Stadium was the largest of its day with a capacity of 45,000 spectators.

CORFU, GREECE

Situated off the western coast of the Greek mainland, Corfu is one of the six Ionian Islands. Its
unique scenery, verdant with gentle green hills and sub-tropical flora,makes it one of the most captivating of all the Greek islands.

KOTOR, MONTENEGRO

The narrow streets of Kotor’s Old Walled Town hide architectural treasures including Medieval houses, palaces, and churches. The magnificent Cathedral of St. Triphun was constructed in 1166 on the remains of a 9th-century temple. And 17th-century Grgurina Palace is a testament to the town’s lengthy maritime history.

DUBROVNIK, CROATIA

Called the “Jewel of the Adriatic” by Lord Byron and classified as a world heritage treasure by UNESCO, Dubrovnik boasts of ancient streets lined with stone palaces, Venetian-style buildings and majestic bell towers. A walk atop the walls af fords spectacular views of the city and the sea.

HVAR, CROATIA

Hvar is the longest of the Croatian islands and noted for its lush vegetation, quaint towns and fertile vineyards. Often called the Lavender Island, a particularly rich Medieval heritage complements Hvar ’s natural and unique beauty.
