DAY 1 : DEPART USA

Fly to Lima. Transfer to your elegant mansion hotel.

DAY 2 : LIMA (500 FT)

COUNTRY CLUB LIMA HOTEL
Welcome to Lima, the ‘City of the Kings.’ Tour the colonial area of Lima including the Cathedral and Convent of San Francisco. Lunch is in a private Miraflores mansion built in 1912. See the Larco Herrera Museum. (B,L)

DAY 3 : LIMA / NASCA (1340 FT)

HOTEL PARACAS
Drive the Pan American Highway to the 18th century Hacienda Arona for a private visit. Continue to Ica and fly over the mysterious Nasca Lines, giant drawings of animals, geometric figures and birds ranging up to 300 meters in size. The purpose of these formations is still an enigma. (B,L)

DAY 4 : NASCA / LIMA

COUNTRY CLUB LIMA HOTEL
Morning cruise to the Ballestas Islands, home to boobies, pelicans, sea lions and penguins. From Punta Pejerrey, the unexplained Candelabro markings can be seen. Visit the Inca site of Tambo Colorado, one of the best preserved Inca ruins in coastal Peru. Lunch is at Hacienda San Jose. (B,L)

DAYS 5-6 : URUBAMBA VALLEY (9570 FT)

HOTEL SOL Y LUNA
Fly to the Cusco and transfer to Urubamba, ‘the Sacred Valley of the Incas.’ Visit the ruins of Pisac and Ollantaytambo located high above the valley. Lunch at Hacienda Huayo Ccari followed by a textile demonstration by Nilda Callanaupa. Take a 4X4 vehicle to see a traditional Quechua village. (B,L)

DAY 7 : MACHU PICCHU (8220 FT)

SANCTUARY LODGE
Board the new train ‘Hiram Bingham’/Orient Express at the Ollanta Station. At km 104 visit the ruins of Chachabamba and climb the Inca Trail to Winay Wayna Fortress. Continue hiking to the Sun Gate for a breathtaking view of Machu Picchu, truly the Lost City of the Incas. Those not interested in taking the Inca Trail may travel to Machu Picchu by train. (B,L,D)

DAY 8 : MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

HOTEL MONASTERIO
Wake up for a Machu Picchu sunrise. Climb to the top of Wayna Picchu, the mountain that overlooks Machu Picchu. Spend the entire day touring the extensive ruins at Machu Picchu. Return to Cusco on the ‘Hiram Bingham’/ Orient Express train complete with cocktails, entertainment and dinner as you discuss the excitement of the past few days. (B,L,D)

DAYS 9-10 : CUSCO (11,055 FT)

HOTEL MONASTERIO
Cusco is a magnificent town. Start with a walking tour in the Plaza de Armas. See Loreto Alley with remarkable Inca stone foundations, the Cathedral and the Sun Temple. Continue to legendary ‘Korikancha’ or Temple of the Sun, the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Quenco, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Return via Andahuaylillas and its humble church with superb 17th century native frescoes. Sunset drinks at Casa Colcampata, a colonial mansion built on Inca foundations overlooking the city of Cuzco. DAY 11 : CUSCO / LAKE TITICACA

HOTEL ISLA ESTEVES
Full day adventure to Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. Visit Raqchi, an unusual Inca site with some unique features, Tinajani, a canyon of stunning natural beauty and Sillustani, giant pre-Inca burial towers. (B,L)

DAY 12 : LAKE TITICACA (12,540 FT)

HOTEL ISLA ESTEVES
Cruise to the unique Uros floating islands. Continue to Taquile Island, where the locals are famous for weaving. On the Capachica peninsula, you are hosted to lunch by Valentin in his very pristine village. (B,L)

DAY 13 : LAKE TITICACA / LA PAZ

HOTEL EUROPA
Skirt the edge of Lake Titicaca as you drive to Copacabana. Visit the basilica of the ‘Dark Virgin.’ Take a boat to the Island of the Sun. Walk up the Escalera del Inca to the ruins of Pilkokaina. Continue by road to La Paz. (B,L)

DAY 14 : LA PAZ (11,220 FT)

HOTEL EUROPA
Tour La Paz, including San Francisco Church and the Witch’s Market. See Moon Valley’s strange formations and the remains of Tiahuanaco including Kalasasaya Temple, Akapana Pyramid, Keri-Kala and Sun Gate. (B)

DAY 15 : LA PAZ / LIMA / DEPART

EN ROUTE
Fly to Lima. Connect with your return flight. Welcome Home! (B)
