“What special memories I will have for the rest of my life of my time alone with my first born daughter in Paris. Thank you so much for all of your time and hard work putting this magical trip together. Not surprisingly, everyone I met just gushed about how wonderful you are. The only part missing on this adventure was that you were not in Paris to share a bottle of champagne with us. Next time, I hope.” With love and appreciation. - Kathy H. California

Destinations & Adventures’ president Jim Berkeley just returned from a two-week+ journey to Egypt with several fancy journalists from New York. WHAT, you say? WHY would they want to travel to Egypt now?

Fact of the matter is that Egypt is on the re-bound…and these journalists know it! Jim took them deep into the Western Desert, camping under the stars in Farafra’s magical White Desert, to Bahariya Oasis to visit the Valley of the Golden Mummies and across the desert track to Siwa Oasis, the westernmost point of Alexander the Great’s travels. In case you were wondering, Alexander the Great went there to consult the famous Siwa Oracle, to verify that he indeed was a God! Heady stuff, right?!? From there they flew down to Upper Egypt (can’t say that very often!) and stayed at the incredible, newly renovated Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel. Both journalists said it is their favorite in the world!! WOW!! After two days of felucca sailing, lounging in the pool and unusual touring to Kalabsha Temple, they wrapped it up on Luxor’s West Bank at the new excavations of Amenhotep III’s Mortuary Temple. Oh yeah, Luxor Temple at night has to be one of the most incredible archaeological sites anywhere!! See you back in Egypt…
